Vocab Sniper - Alpha 11/13/23


Here's what I added/improved for the Alpha milestone:

NEW FEATURES

  • New round end conditions. Before, the round would only end if you selected the right answer. Now, the round will end if you don't hit the correct target within the time limit or you shoot all three incorrect targets. 
  • Breathing room between rounds. Added a ~1 second delay between rounds so you're not immediately thrust into the next round and gives time for the animations to play. 
  • Ending screen (sort of). Finishing the vocabulary list now moves you to the results screen instead of looping.

BACKEND

  • Created two new scenes for the title and results screen. Should be available by the beta.
  • Reformatted most/all functions to accommodate for animations.

VISUAL

  • MASSIVE overhaul for all visuals
    • Art
      • All targets now have ANIMATIONS!!! Yay! They will now come up from the ground and disappear back into it once shot. 
      • Brown bar HUD has been updated to look more like a plank of wood.
      • Background has been updated to look more pretty. Clouds have also been added to the sky to avoid it looking like water. 
    • Labels
      • Modified all labels to have a new font, black border, and different colors.
      • Made the term label stand out more
      • Added "Streak" in front of the streak label for improved clarity.
      • Players will now see points or "X" depending on the target they hit.
      • Time label has been converted to a progress bar to help with time drop
